What started as a trend about individuality became a way to romanticize the ordinary, while also revealing how quickly social media can turn authenticity into another aesthetic.

The first Monday in May has become synonymous with fashion’s biggest night. The Met Gala. This year’s theme was “Fashion Is Art”, which connects back to the central idea of the exhibit itself. Inclusion in fashion is often discussed as an idea, but rarely executed. It is a voice that exists within communities, across media and especially among students, but is not always understood. At Marist University, Runway of Dreams approaches it differently, working to turn that idea into something real.
